Mini League: Game Day 2 – Hyiktsay vs Eric Lew


This engagement witnessed 2 comparative naval fleets of German and IJN commanded by Hyiktsay and Eric Lew respectively.

Dice roll off and “kill the flagship” was chosen and IJN being the attacking fleet.

This game was played at my place, utilizing the dining table.

Both fleets brought in their submarine attacks and saw the IJN miss all their targets, while the Germans managed to hit both IJN’s CL; penetrating CL Agano.

Turn 1

German Fleet
The German advanced via their left flank while majority of IJN fleet advanced on the opposite. One of IJN DD maneuvered off course and landed adjacent to a central landmass. It shall remain there till it’s destruction.

No casualties reported in this turn.

Turn 2

Both fleets continued their advancement.

As CL Noshiro peeks past the central landmass, it was quickly finished off by CA Lutzow.

Turn 3

Turn 3 showdown
As both fleets passed each other, shots were traded viciously. The outcome from the gun battle saw IJN having 3 ships sink to the abyss; CL Agano, DD Akitsuki and DD Fuyuksuki.

No casualties were reported on the German, though they were damaged quite considerably.

Turn 4

IJN called in their 2nd submarine strike and 3 of was intercepted by the German. A lone submarine managed to hit and penetrate the German flagship and causing severe listing among other damages.

Capitalizing on the near crippled German flagship, IJN pursue aggressively, destroying CL Koln at the cost of DD Harutsuki.

Turn 5

This turn saw German calling in their 2nd submarine attacks, sinking CA Mogami.

With its flagship in a precarious situation, Germany quickly adapted a more defensive strategy, protecting it at all cost.

As the battle drags on, CA Maya managed to destroy Z37 and witness the sinking of Z31 due to failure in flood control.

Turn 6

IJN’s CA Mikuma was destroyed by CA Lutzow right after it managed to bring down Z37. Its flagship, CA Maya, was caught on fire from CA Admiral Hipper shots, which will plague by it as the battle continues.

Turn 7

With most of its fleet destroyed, IJN charged in its remaining 2 DDs towards the German formation and launches their torpedoes heading CA Blucher’s direction, sinking it in the process. Both DDs, Hatsusuki and Natsuzuki, will meet their end at this turn from the over killing German guns.

Besides that, IJN was finally able to sink that troublesome CA Lutzow; which had by now taken out 3 of IJN’s ships.

Turn 8

Finale
With CA Maya the only surviving ship in the IJN fleet, they decide to make a quick escape, only to be slowed down by the sustained engine damage.

The German gave chase and having its own flagship lingering behind landmass cover.

A wild shot by Z32 gun was enough to take out the IJN flagship; plagued by on-going fire and severely cripple.

The German were victorious in this encounter and completely wipe out the IJN fleet~~!!
