Today's battle witness the importance of
smoke deployment in battle as a deterrent and masking of own warships. Somehow
or another, the IJN forces were unable to overcome it and resulted to its
defeat at the hand of the British.
Game day 6 involving the British fleet pitted
against IJN forces in a "kill the flagship" scenario and having IJN
as the attacker, yet again.
This battle also oversaw a predominant destroyer
actions and having heavier warships taking the back seat.

Deployment,
Air Strike & Submarine Attack
Submarine attacks were called in by IJN,
however, all of it were intercepted.
Turn
1
The British maneuvered in deep formation with
its cruisers facing broadside and having its destroyers deploying smokes.
IJN heavy cruisers plotted their way on a
cascading formation heading backwards.
Resulting gun battle recorded a severely
crippled CL Noshiro.
No casualties recorded in this turn.
Turn 2
Furious gun shots continued from both side with British forces deploying smoke markers while IJN fleet looking for gaps within those deployed
smokes.
CL Noshiro sunk due to failed flood control.
Turn 3
British continued their deep formation and
inches forward while constantly deploying a thick wall of smokes.
Constant gun battle took its toll with the
British losing HMS Scorpion, HMS Cossack, HMS Shark and HMS Nepal.
Over at the IJN side, the casualties include
DD Hatsutsuki and DD Akitsuki.
Turn 4
As the battle continues, the IJN fleet coupled
by its futile attempt to pierce the British smoke deployment and lack of maneuverability,
compounded to the IJN woes as warships after warships were taken out by British
fleet.
IJN fatalities were DD Natsuzuki, DD
Harutsuki, DD Hanatsuki and CL Agano.
No casualties recorded on the British side.
Turn 5
Having lost all options and majority of its
ships destoryed, IJN called in their 2nd submarine attacks.
The resulting attacks saw penetrating hit to
HMS Kent (flagship) causing flooding. However no celebration on the IJN side as
the British naval crew being efficiently enough to stop the flooding from
spiraling out of control.
IJN withdrew from the engagement and handling
a British victory.
Great report, sounds like a lot of fun. Love the marble map/table! Would be perfect for playing an arctic scenario... :)
